Emergency Medical responder (advanced first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Students will receive an American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Card and a Course Completion certificate upon successful completion of the class.

Emergency Medical Care - Pediatrics

Adult, child and infant CPR and AED use, first aid, and preventative health and safety for the licensed child care provider. Completion qualifies the participant for CPR, first aid, and childcare, healthcare, and safety certification. Meets the California Child Care Standards in accordance with California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12.

Prerequisite(s): American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider CPR card; This will be validated on the FIRST day of class; Card must be BLS PROVIDER from the AHA, no other CPR card will be accepted.
Co-requisite(s): EMS A150L and EMS A151.

An overview of the EMT’s roles and responsibilities including the evaluation and treatment of medical and trauma emergencies. This would include extrication and transport of the sick, ill, and injured patient. Successful completion of all corequisite courses qualifies the graduating student to take the National Registry EMT certifying exam.

Practical application of the theories and skills required for an Emergency Medical Technician to perform assessments, and provide care, life-saving measures, and employ safe techniques while effectively engaged in patient interactions.

Application and integration of skills and knowledge gained from EMT A150 in the emergency department of an acute hospital or other arranged clinical setting in accordance with California State Title 22, Section 9 regulations, and on a Basic Life Support ambulance unit. Offered on a pass-no pass basis only.

EMT-1 Recertification  
Prerequisite(s): Current EMT-1(Basic) certificate or certificate which has not expired by more than two years.

New policies and procedures including the latest CPR techniques and procedures for new equipment, updates to the EMT-Basic's scope of practice within Orange County, the State and Federal guidelines, and review of the required EMT- Basic curriculum to the most up-to-date model. Provides 24 hours of Continuing Education as 24 Hour-Refresher Course. No skills testing provided. Offered on a pass-no pass basis only.
