Formerly SPED C304, C007. This course is designed to assist those with persistent post-concussion syndrome who are actively working or completing college coursework full-time. Students learn to deal with and compensate for the various cognitive and psychosocial issues commonly experienced after brain injury. The class focuses on executive function skills (organization, time management, problem-solving, decision-making, etc.) as well as memory, practical note-taking, and strategies for success. An emphasis is placed on the integration of technology as a cognitive prosthetic to assist with daily challenges. Pass/No Pass only. (NOT DEGREE APPLICABLE.)

Formerly C305. This course is designed to assist those with brain injuries learn to deal with and compensate for the various cognitive and psychosocial issues commonly experienced after brain injury. The program focuses on executive function skills (organization, time management, and problem-solving and decision-making strategies, etc.) as well as memory, practical note-taking, study strategies, and career development/transition. An emphasis is placed on the integration of technology as a cognitive prosthetic to assist with daily challenges. Pass/No Pass only. (NOT DEGREE APPLICABLE.)

Designed to assist students with developmental delays in acquiring beginning reading skills. Emphasis of the course will be on pre-reading skills, knowledge of the alphabet, phonetic pronunciation, and sight word vocabulary. Noncredit. Pass/No Pass. (NOT DEGREE APPLICABLE.)

Grading Mode: P/NP/SP Non-Credit

Designed to teach students with developmental disabilities to travel within their communities with minimal dependence upon others. Simulated experiences in the classroom will be combined with training in the neighborhood and community at large. Class size will be limited, and all students will be tested for class readiness prior to enrollment. Noncredit. Pass/No Pass. (NOT DEGREE APPLICABLE.)
