Building Construction, Certificate of Achievement

The Building Construction Certificate of Achievement is a flexible certificate to develop skills for the construction industry. Students may select any combination of courses that total eighteen (18) or more units from the following list. Education can be used towards satisfying the Contractor’s Licensing Board experience requirements. Note: CNST A165 Construction Safety/CAL OSHA and CNST A195 Residential Code or CNST A194 Introduction to Building Codes are required to earn the Building Construction Certificate.

Program Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate the knowledge, skills and experience to identify, assess, and participate in many entry-level construction trades.
  2. Be prepared to work in the construction field in positions including, but not limited to work areas such as inspection, management, and as hands-on skilled tradespeople.
