The UX Design Certificate is designed to prepare the student for an entry level position in the UX/UI Design Industry. Students will gain the knowledge and skills needed to create original digital art used to integrate user research, psychology, as well as, text, images, animation, video, and other content into effective user interface design. Students will create prototypes that explore, demonstrate, and verify the effectiveness of their design solutions for the Web, Apps, Watches, and/or other Interactive Design Products. Digital Media Arts and Design is an important sector of the economy and industry is eager to find qualified candidates who not only understand practical knowledge of UX/UI design principles, but also know how to collaborate with fellow designers, stakeholders, clients.
Complete the UX Design Certificate of Achievement and the Associate in Science graduation requirements as outlined in the Graduation Requirements section of the catalog.
Program Outcomes
- Demonstrate skill in design utilizing industry standard user experience design and visual design software.
- Design and create website and mobile app projects and prototypes, that demonstrate knowledge of design for different screens, user interface design, and best practices in typography, design and navigation.
- Create a portfolio utilizing a variety of design techniques for the purpose of gaining employment and/or acceptance to an Art College or University.
