Infant and Toddler Specialization, Certificate of Achievement

This certificate provides students with a specialized focus on the unique strengths and needs of infants and toddlers. Students will study the developmental stages from birth to age 3, understand the importance of relationship-based care, and programming considerations. It is also recommended for licensed Family Child Care Providers who care for young children in their homes. A grade of “C” or better is required in all courses. 

Program Outcome

Meets Title 22 minimum licensing requirements for employment as an Infant-Toddler Teacher, and satisfies the specialization unit requirement for the Child Development Permit at the Master Teacher level. If paired with Child Development Lead Teacher certificate holder can be employed as an Infant-toddler Teacher, Lead Preschool Teacher or Mentor Teacher.
