This certificate prepares students to design and implement emergent curriculum for children birth – 8 years. Provides a strong theoretical foundation for planning developmentally and culturally relevant curriculum which meets the needs of a diverse population. Satisfies the specialization unit requirement for the Child Development Permit at the Master Teacher level. A grade of “C” or better is required in all courses.
Program Outcome
Satisfies the specialization unit requirement for the Child Development Permit at the Master Teacher level. In conjunction with core units, the holder can be employed as a Preschool teacher, if paired with the Child Development Lead Teacher certificate, holder can be employed as Lead Preschool Teacher or Mentor Teacher.
