Professional Mariner
The maritime industry offers exciting and dynamic careers including opportunities to travel working on vessels. Successful students will receive US Coast Guard-recognized certificates required or recommended for many jobs, as well as hands-on training, giving students a distinct advantage in the workplace.
Graduates work on supply boats, ferries, tugs, barges, cruise ships, research ships, and private vessels. Land-based jobs include marine electrical and systems work and entry-level engine repair. Some graduates continue their education at a maritime academy. Internships and scholarships are available to eligible students. Jobs are available locally and nation-wide.
Courses are taught at OCC's Waterfront Campus at the Professional Mariner Training Center.
