This noncredit certificate will provide the necessary training in emergency assessment and lifeguard rescue skills to be certified as an American Red Cross lifeguard. Students interested in employment at an aquatics facility, either pool or ocean, will receive the necessary training and certification in lifeguarding and professional rescue for these positions.

Program Outcomes

1. Students will be able to assess emergency situations in a pool or the ocean and identify an action plan for immediate implementation.
2. Students will be able to perform water rescues and perform CPR as necessary.

A certificate leading to improved employability or job opportunities.
