The program prepares students to work as entry-level healthcare workers for patients in various settings, including long-term facilities. The program consists of 60 theory hours and 100 practicum hours. This course meets the Title 22 regulations in caring for the geriatric population in hospitals, assisted living, and long-term care settings, utilizing skills in basic care, emergency care, and communication. Upon successfully completing the program, the student is eligible to take the Competency Evaluation Examination to become a licensed Certified Nurse Assistant. This program is designed to meet the curriculum requirement of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
