The certificate program offers students the opportunity to complete science and lab courses which are required by most nursing and health-related degree programs.
This certificate focuses on providing students who want to apply to a nursing or health degree program with core science courses that are prerequisites for nursing, kinesiology, physical therapy or another career. This Pre-Health Science Certificate will prepare students to advance their career in the health care profession.
Program Level Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Name and identify the basic structures of the human body.
- Describe and explain major and anatomical structures involved in organ system homeostasis.
- Identify normal and abnormal physiological values.
- Describe the role of microorganisms related to their role in disease.
- Identify, evaluate, and select research material relevant to a well-defined topic and properly compile this material into a research paper.
