The Pre-Physician Assistant certificate satisfies prerequisite coursework for most graduate-level programs in this field. The 19 unit certificate program offers students the opportunity to complete the required foundational sciences, social science, and statistics coursework. The certificate focuses on providing students who want to apply to a master’s degree program certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant for the professional credential, Physician Assistant (PA).

Program Level Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Name and identify the basic structures of the human body. 
  2. Explain the six criteria that are used to define normal verses abnormal behavior. 
  3. Develop an understanding of statistical modeling through the study of and applications to data sets in the social and behavioral sciences.
