Hybrid Electric Vehicle Maintenance Specialist, Certificate of Achievement
This program is designed to prepare students for careers as automotive service technicians. The curriculum aligns with the ASE certification areas A6 Automotive Electrical, A5 Brakes, and L3 Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Vehicles. This prepares students for employment in the automotive industry. Upon completion of this program, students will have developed the skills required to maintain Hybrid and Electric vehicle (HEV) systems.
Program Level Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Perform hybrid electric vehicle high voltage disconnect procedure as per manufacture procedures.
- Measure high voltage electrical circuits using industry standard tools and equipment to verify high voltage system performance.
- Perform multipoint vehicle inspection and routine maintenance procedures as per manufature specification.
- Identify differences in parallel, series/parallel, mild, plug-in, and full electric vehicle powertrains.
