The program is designed to prepare students for careers in the automotive industry. The curriculum aligns with the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification areas A1 Engine Repair, A6 Automotive Electrical, and A8 Engine Performance. This prepares students for employment in advanced level diagnostics. Upon completion of this program, students will have developed the skills required to diagnose and repair fuel and emissions related systems.

Program Level Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Diagnose drivability and emission systems using industry accepted diagnostic tools and equipment.
  2. Assess drivability and emission related input/output values using diagnostic tools and comparing findings to published manufacturer's specifications.
  3. Perform an emission system repair procedure utilizing published manufacturer's service procedures.
