Awarding of Degrees

Students seeking to earn an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree at Golden West College must meet the requirements:

1. Completion of a General Education pattern.
2. Completion of a Major or Area of Emphasis:  a minimum of 18 units. 
3. Completion of 60-degree applicable units with a 2.0 grade point average in the 60 units required for a degree.
4. Satisfactory completion of at least 12 semester units in residence within the Coast Colleges (Golden West College, Orange Coast College, and/or Coastline College).
5. Completion of additional requirements for the particular degree as outlined by the requirements set forth in this catalog.
