This program is designed to help prepare non-native speakers of English to successfully complete the U.S. citizenship process. Preparation includes reinforcing key points of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) civics study questions by reviewing basic U.S history, government, and constitution. In addition, students will develop communicative English skills through the practice of interactions and interview techniques to understand and complete the final USCIS interview.

Program Level Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Recognize the requirements and application process for U.S. naturalization.
  2. Identify major events in U.S. history and significant attributes of the U.S. government, constitution, geography, and culture as it relates to the citizenship process.
  3. Employ conversation strategies to improve communication.
