This is a basic course for high-beginning English language learners and focuses on English language skills necessary for reading, writing, listening, and speaking tasks in familiar everyday life situations. Emphasis is placed on interpreting short reading passages on familiar topics in everyday life in the United States as well as writing sentences in the simple past, past progressive, and future tenses. Students work to master pronunciation of final consonants, build listening skills to identify main idea and details, and speaking skills to ask for directions and clarification.
