Chemistry, Certificate of Achievement

The Certificate of Achievement in Chemistry provides a background in general and organic chemistry. Coursework emphasizes the atomic-level composition, properties, and reactions of inorganic and organic substances. It prepares students for further study in chemistry or related science disciplines, such as medicine or pharmacy.

Program Learning Outcomes

  1. Examine inorganic and organic chemistry, including calculations, reactions, and nomenclature.
  2. Explain how the application of chemistry is related to other fields.
  3. Participate in both classroom and laboratory experiences.
  4. Interpret experimental information, develop relationships, and correlate that experimental information with theory.
  5. Write quality laboratory reports, with well-developed discussions and conclusions.
