This noncredit course teaches basic theory in the following subjects: health and safety, disinfection and sanitation, anatomy, chemistry, physiology, bacteriology, mycology, chemical hair services, texture, hair sculpting, natural hair , salon success, professionalism, and professional ethics. Course guidelines are in compliance with the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology Rules and Regulations. This is the first course in a series of four. NOT DEGREE APPLICABLE.

This noncredit course teaches the student basic scientific theory in trichology, occupational health and safety, communicable diseases in the workplace, dermatology, communication skills. Students will learn the principles of facials, manicuring, hair cutting, styling, hair coloring, chemical straightening, and permanent waving. Course guidelines are in compliance with with the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology. Students will begin to practice operations on doll heads and student exchange in order to perfect their skill. This is the second course in a series of four.

This noncredit course teaches the study with the basic scientific theory in electricity as it applies to cosmetology, heat and light energy, neurology, osteology, occupational safety precautions of HIV/AIDS and hepatitis B, disorders of the skin, scalp and hair, salon management, ergonomics. Students will learn the principles of advanced facials, facial massage techniques, hair removal and lash and brow beautification and manicuring and pedicuring and introduces long hair design. Introductory wig, hairpieces, hair addition and hair extensions essentials. Course guidelines are in compliance with the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology Rules and Regulations. This is the third course in a series of four. NOT DEGREE APPLICABLE.

This noncredit course provides foundational and advanced theory in the following subjects: health and safety, disinfection and sanitation, anatomy, chemistry, physiology, bacteriology, mycology, electricity, business, hair design, California Board of Cosmetology rules and regulations, chemical hair services, texture, hair sculpting, natural hair, skincare, nails, hair design, and professionalism and professional ethics. Course guidelines comply with the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology Rules and Regulations. This is the fourth course in a series of four. NOT DEGREE APPLICABLE.

This noncredit course is the first session of two nine week courses comprising of 342 hours to be applied to a State Board Certification in esthetics. The course is designed to introduce the beginning student to standards of professional conduct and to scientific theory of all subjects dealing with skin care, (i.e. anatomy, histology of the skin). It also provides a laboratory experience with an emphasis on skin care techniques, such as facial massage, hair removal, skin analysis, use of electrical modalities, as well as basic makeup. Students are required to purchase an esthetician kit, program uniform and other program materials.

This noncredit course is the second session of two nine week courses comprising of 336 hours to be applied to a State Board Certification in esthetics. The course is designed to provide a more in-depth skills of esthetics including the scientific theory pertinent to skin (i.e. chemistry, nutrition). The students will learn skin care theory and receive more advanced laboratory training including the application of chemical peels, facial and body massage techniques, hair removal, eyelash extensions, eyelash and brow tinting, perm eyelash lamination, and proper use of electrical facial modalities. Students will learn the skills required to render most professional services.
