Course Description
Formerly: THEA G142 – Theater Practicum 1. Students in this course are given practical experience in theatrical acting, rehearsal, and performance at an introductory level. Actors will be selected through the audition/interview process. PREREQUISITE: Audition/interview. Transfer Credit: CSU; UC. C-ID: THTR 191. C-ID: THTR 191.

- Complete an acting assignment in a live theatrical production at Golden West College at an introductory level.
Course Objectives
- 1. Evaluate and analyze a script for rehearsal and performance at an introductory level
- 2. Create and dramatize the behavioral life of a character in rehearsal and performance at an introductory level
- 3. Demonstrate a strong work ethic within a professional framework of collaboration at an introductory level
- 4. Apply basic skills and methods to performing a role on stage at an introductory level
- 5. Use and maintain basic production elements such as props, costumes, and furniture to create the world of a chosen play at an introductory level
- 6. Recognize and demonstrate their collaborative responsibilities with the director and designers in rehearsal and in performance at an introductory level

Eligible Disciplines
Drama/theater Arts: Masters degree or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance OR bachelors degree or Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama/theater/performance AND masters degree in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature, or humanities OR the equivalent.
