Course Description
This course is an intermediate-to-advanced level course in American Sign Language (ASL). Emphasis is on vocabulary aquisition and intermediate level grammar. Students will learn to incorporate temporal sequencing, reoccuring time signs, continuous time signs, when clauses, locatives, and advanced classifiers. ADVISORY: SIGN G185. Transfer Credit: CSU; UC.

- 3. Produce a signed conversation related to medical conditions using temporal inflection.

Analysis of ASL discourse structure to formulate correct grammatical usage. Analysis of ASL conversational components to correctly choose sequencing and temporal aspect.

Produce written ASL "gloss" notation of a conversation. Produce signed directions to locate an object.
Eligible Disciplines
Foreign languages: Master's degree in the language being taught OR bachelor's degree in the language being taught AND master's degree in another language or linguistics OR the equivalent. Master's degree required.
