Course Description
A music appreciation course focusing on music from cultures around the world. Transfer Credit: CSU.

- Given recorded or performed examples, apply listening skills learned in class to determine the following: textural qualities (heterophonic, polyphonic, etc.), rhythmic structure, ethnic origin, composer or title, and instrumentation.
- Analyze or compare and contrast music from representative geographical locations in the world in terms of culture, style, instruments used, and sacred vs. profane.

Music: Masters degree in music OR bachelors degree in music AND masters degree in humanities OR the equivalent. Masters degree required.
