Course Description
This course introduces the creative and production aspects of choreographing original work, from rehearsal to stage. All aspects of dance concert production are studied. Transfer Credit: CSU; UC.

- Course Outcomes
- Create a fully realized live dance concert in a studio setting that utilizes technical elements, stage flooring, backdrops, special effects and costume changes at a beginning level.
- Choreograph aa choreographed group or solo dance composition for a studio concert with an awareness of stage space and its relation to the many styles of dance choreography and the audience at a beginning level.
Course Objectives
- 1. Collaborate with instructor and peers as a choreographer, lighting designer, costume designer or director of staging for a studio dance concert at a beginning level.
- 2. Choreograph and/or perform a dance composition that demonstrates a variety of dance styles for a studio dance concert at a beginning level.
- 3. Collaborate with instructor and peers to produce a studio dance concert that will utilize lighting, seating, stage flooring, backdrops, curtain changes, costumes, makeup and special effects at a beginning level.

Eligible Disciplines
Dance: Masters degree in dance, physical education with a dance emphasis, or theater with dance emphasis, OR bachelors degree in any of the above AND masters degree in physical education, any life science, physiology, theater arts, kinesiology, humanities, performing arts, or music OR the equivalent. Masters degree required.
