Course Description
Formerly: Elementary Vietnamese. This course is a continuation of VIET G180. The VIET G185 course is designed to further develop the fundamental skills of spoken and written Vietnamese. Students will learn correct pronunciation, basic structural patterns, and necessary vocabulary in order to write and understand basic sentences and carry on simple conversations and paragraphs. Fundamental aspects of Vietnamese culture will be addressed. PREREQUISITE: VIET G180 or completed 2 years of High School Vietnamese. Transfer Credit: CSU; UC.

Foreign languages: Masters degree in the language being taught OR bachelors degree in the language being taught AND masters degree in another language or linguistics OR the equivalent. Masters degree required.
