Course Description

Formerly: THEA G171 – Play Production. (or Play Production and Performance) This course provides participation in the acting, rehearsal, and performance of theatrical productions presented to the community at an introductory level. Actors will be selected through the audition/interview process. PREREQUISITE: Audition/interview. Transfer Credit: CSU; UC. C-ID: THTR 191. C-ID: THTR 191.

Course Objectives

• 1. Demonstrate a strong work ethic within a professional framework of collaboration at an introductory level
• 2. Apply basic skills and methods to performing a role on stage at an introductory level
• 3. Use and maintain basic production elements such as props, costumes, and furniture to create the world of a chosen play at an introductory level
• 4. Recognize and demonstrate their collaborative responsibilities with the director and designers in rehearsal and in performance at an introductory level

Eligible Disciplines

Drama/theater Arts: Masters degree or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance OR bachelors degree or Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama/theater/performance AND masters degree in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature, or humanities OR the equivalent.
