Course Description

This introductory course is designed for students interested in developing fundamental pet knowledge and skills that will lead to a pet-care vocation. Generalized animal identification skills and basic care techniques for domesticated animal care will be covered in classroom lectures and demonstrations with a focus on mammals. Integrated field experience will include live domesticated animal care demonstrations and hands-on experiences. Skills learned in this course will be further developed when applied to additional animal groups in Intermediate Skills in Basic Animal Care. Noncredit. Pass/No Pass/Satisfactory Progress.
