Course Description

Designed for adults who have acquired brain injuries and who have been referred by Coastline's ABI Program Admissions Committee for evaluation of cognitive and psychosocial skills for consideration for admission to the ABI Program. PREREQUISITE: Referral by the ABI Program Admissions Committee. Noncredit. NOT DEGREE APPLICABLE. Not Transferable.

  2. Complete pre-admission assessments while appropriately interacting with faculty and peers.

  • 1. Demonstrate sufficient receptive and expressive communication skills to benefit from the ABI Program.
  • 2. Demonstrate a willingness and ability to adhere to the Coast Community College Code of Conduct.
  • 3. Demonstrate a commitment to full-time participation in the ABI Program.

Eligible Disciplines

Psychology: Masters degree in psychology OR bachelors degree in psychology AND masters degree in counseling, sociology, statistics, neuroscience, or social work OR the equivalent. Masters degree required. Special education: Minimum qualifications for these faculty members are specified in title 5, section 53414. Masters degree required. Title 5, section 53414 Speech language pathology: Masters degree in speech pathology, speech language pathology, speech language and hearing sciences, communicative disorders, communicative disorders and sciences, communication sciences and disorders, or education with a concentration in speech pathology, OR the equivalent. Masters degree required.
