Course Description
This hands-on course introduces students to best practices for success in theater and film. Topics include: Headshots, Resumes, Audition Preparation, Castings, Actors Guilds, and Networking. Noncredit. NOT DEGREE APPLICABLE. Not Transferable.

- Prepare and utilize a personalized portfolio for identified audition opportunities.
Course Objectives
- 1. Identify actors guilds appropriate to the students characteristics and experiences.
- 2. Recall the basic components of an audition.
- 3. Select one audition that is appropriate to the students interest and skill.
- 4. Employ successful networking techniques.
- 5. Find and share castings with the class.
- 6. Construct an acting portfolio.

Identify a casting call they would like to go to. Share it with the class.
Demonstration of Critical Thinking
Direct observation of the application of critical thinking practices, including: Discriminate between acting and theater-related guilds/unions. Use reasoning to select casting calls that align with the students interest and skills. Use reasoning to select audition pieces that are appropriate to the task. Analyze networking situations and employ successful techniques
Required Writing, Problem Solving, Skills Demonstration
Completion of an acting portfolio, including completion of headshots and a resume.
