Course Description

This course is designed to introduce students to the profession of nursing and to the knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential for success in the educational setting and the clinical environment. Emphasis is on learning style, study skills, medical terminology, and the professional nursing role. Transfer Credit: CSU.

Demonstration of Critical Thinking

Clinical reasoning and problem solving are integral to the successful use of the nursing process.  All assignments in this course are designed to move the student toward analysis and problem-oriented goal-setting via the use of clinical reasoning within a nursing process framework.

Eligible Disciplines

Nursing: Master's degree in nursing OR bachelor's degree in nursing AND master's degree in health education or health science OR the equivalent OR the minimum qualifications as set by the Board of Registered Nursing, whichever is higher. Master's degree required.
