Course Description

Continued skill development through experiential work in a small public aquarium, aquaponics greenhouses and/or aquaculture facility, under the supervision of the instructor, staff, and/or designated student managers. Not Transferable.

  1. Students will demonstrate job skill growth such as proper feeding and system maintenance through hours working in the aquarium, aquaponic greenhouses, and/or aquaculture facility.

  • 1. Hands-on experience working in aquarium or aquaculture industry.

Included topics: Best practices and procedures working with life support, water quality, and animal husbandry related to aquarium, aquaponics systems, and recirculating aquaculture systems.

Eligible Disciplines

Biological sciences: Master's degree in any biological science OR bachelor's degree in any biological science AND master's degree in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science OR the equivalent. Master's degree required.
