Course Description
This course explores current issues in the field of journalism, rotating through a variety of topics, including but not limited to citizen journalism, ethics and niche journalism. Transfer Credit: CSU.

- Identify current issues and relate their implications to the journalism field.
- Create a project or written analysis that illustrates the current issue.

Content related to the current issues in journalism for both practitioners and consumers to be detailed in instructor syllabus Analysis of implications related to producing and consuming journalism Possible responses appropriate to the issue at hand

Eligible Disciplines
Journalism: Masters degree in journalism or communication with a specialization in journalism OR bachelors degree in either of the above AND masters degree in English, history, communication, literature, composition, comparative literature, any social science, business, business administration, marketing, graphics, or photography OR the equivalent. Masters degree required.
