Course Description

A survey of the interior design profession, industry, related occupations and work sites. The course will emphasize personal, educational, and professional qualifications required for entry into the interior design profession. Transfer Credit: CSU.

  1. Research and report on the educational, personal and professional skills, and legal requirements for entry into the Interior Design profession.

Course Objectives

  • 1. Identify education, skills and personal qualifications for entry into the interior design profession.
  • 2. Research and become familiar with work sites related to the interior design profession.
  • 3. Interview Interior Design professionals.
  • 4. Research legal requirements for becoming a professional interior designer.
  • 5. Define vocabulary terms pertaining to interior design.
  • 6. Research professional associations and identify benefits of membership in a professional association.
