Course Description
Recognition of landscape control of weeds in the landscape and in nurseries with emphasis on practical applications. Transfer Credit: CSU.

- Identify common weeds of Southern California and describe various control methods available to them.
- Recommend an appropriate herbicide application.
Course Objectives
- 1. Classify various weeds.
- 2. Identify common weeds of the southern California landscape and nursery.
- 3. Describe the current herbicides available and their mode of action.
- 4. Safely apply herbicides.
- 5. Calibrate application equipment.
- 6. Describe how to control weeds in various landscape plantings and in nurseries.
- 7. Realize the importance of using “Integrated Pest Management” practices.
