Course Description

Flight training in selected areas for the purpose of gaining proficiency in required pilot operations for various certificates and ratings. All training is conducted in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 61 and Part 141. All flight training labs are conducted in accordance with an approved FAR Part 141 syllabus. In addition, flight lab courses allow the student to accrue the necessary flight hours for certification and licensing as a commercial, instrument pilot. Transfer Credit: CSU.

  1. Performs within the tolerances for each flight maneuver required by in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Practical Test Standards for Private Pilot Airplane.

  • 1. Demonstrate proficiency to FAA Practical testing standards for the Private Pilot Rating.

Lab Content

The student will receive flight training from a college authorized and approved instructor and practice solo flight in the following areas of aircraft operation:   A. Preflight procedures; B. Airport operations; C. Takeoffs, landings, and go-arounds; D. Performance maneuvers; E. Ground reference maneuvers; F. Navigation; G. Slow flight and stalls; H. Basic instrument maneuvers; I. Emergency operations; J. Night operations, except as provided in Sec. 61.110 of this part; and K. Postflight procedures. L. Night operations
