The Entrepreneurship for Artists program is to provide students a solid foundation in the business aspects of starting and operating a small business or providing services in an independent capacity in the Arts. This may include but is not limited to operating galleries, museums or theaters as well as providing services as an illustrator, graphic designer, set designer, studio artist, etc.
Program Level Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Analyze and recommend effective business decisions/solutions using a systematic, evaluative, and information-based approach.
- Demonstrate awareness of ethical and social responsibility in today’s multicultural, team oriented, and rapidly changing global environment.
- Effectively communicate solutions to business issues, using appropriate language and tools, demonstrating understanding of business terms and concepts.
Certificate Graduation Requirements
A Certificate is awarded upon completion of the required coursework with a grade of C or higher in each course. A grade of P (Pass) is acceptable, however, the student must meet an overall GPA requirement of 2.0 to receive the certificate. To receive the certificate, a student must file a petition for graduation during their final semester prior to the application deadline as noted on the Coastline Graduation webpage.

- 50 percent of the certificate program’s units must be completed at Coastline.
