Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE)

CARE was established by the State of California in 1982 as a supplemental component of EOPS. The program provides resources and support for disadvantaged single parents and promotes self-sufficiency through education and training. CARE is a program for EOPS single parents who are currently receiving public assistance and also meet the following qualifications:

  1. 18 years of age or older
  2. Single parent and head of household of a child or children under 14 years of age
  3. Receive TANF/CalWORKs monetary benefits

Services for CARE students include supportive counseling, textbook/supplies, transportation assistance and a meal program.
